Maryland citizens understand we have too many junk lawsuits in our courts but unfortunately, many of our legislators just don't get it.
Personal injury lawyers have worked hard to win friends in our state legislature who will support their lawsuit creation agenda and every year they push hundreds of proposals that would create new ways to sue or expand their profits.
We've fought proposals that would have limited citizens' rights, undone reforms, unleashed a flood of questionable lawsuits and threatened access to health care. We've also worked to improve our laws and help citizens be wise legal consumers and active participants in our civil justice system.
Legislators need to be held accountable by their constituents. It is extremely important to find out where your legislators stand on important issues. Tell your legislators that you care about lawsuit abuse and want them to act on behalf of their constituents, not the personal injury bar.
